The Rotary of Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia has partnered with the Rotary of Moshi, Tanzania to provide funding for the purchase of teaching tools and materials to train unskilled youth in various trade skills at the Hai Technical Training Centre near Moshi, an education project of Godparents for Tanzania.  Funds totaling $6,654.00 have been raised by the Smith Mountain Lake Rotary and will be matched by the Rotary International Foundation.  Click on the Projects menu tab to learn more about Hai Technical Training Centre.  The project leader is G4TZ Director Pidge Morgan (pmorgan@godparents4tz.org).

 

 

The Baltimore Waterfront Rotary Club has provided a grant of $2,000.00 toward the Karatu Vocational Training Centre Computer/Lab and Internet Caf now in the planning stages.  This education project of Godparents for Tanzania will provide a computer lab for training KVTC students as well as others from the Karatu community.  It is intended to be self-sustaining by also operating as an internet caf to provide income for operations and scholarships for students.  The project leader is G4TZ Director Sandi Timmins (sltimmins@verizon.net).
