College of African Wildlife Management-Mweka

There's no shortage of ability or motivation among Tanzanian students.  The only thing holding them back is a lack of opportunity.

The Mazingira Scholarship Fund ("mazingira" means environment in Swahili) will provide students with career training in the growing field of wildlife management-nearly guaranteeing them employment with the National Park Service after graduation.

Managing national parks and wildlife refuges is a viable career for young Tanzanians and tremendous support to the local economy.

Godparents for Tanzania has received an initial $10,000 grant from Environmental Resources Management (ERM), one of the the world's leading providers of environmental and related consulting services.  The ERM Foundation supports social and environmental projects around the world.

We need to raise matching funds which will allow three new students to enter the College of Wildlife Management in the fall of 2009 to study for their three-year Advanced Diploma.  Donations may be made by clicking any Donate Now button on this web site.  Gifts may also be sent to the Godparents for Tanzania postal address below.
