Hai Technical Training Centre

    Located in the Hai District about 40km from Moshi, Hai Technical Training Centre is directed by Mr. Peniel Shali, a civil engineer.  The school is targeted at unemployed youth in the 15-25 age range.  There is a severe unemployment problem in this area for this age group.  Training at HTTC will produce employable people with skills in carpentry, auto mechanics, electrical installation, plumbing, etc.  A lab has also been completed for computer training.

     Construction of all the main buildings has been completed.  In February, 2007, a severe wind storm seriously damaged the dormitory building.  Substantial gifts from various donors were sent  to assist with the repair.  The school was officially opened by Discovery Safari-2007 travelers.

    The first class of auto mechanic students graduated in 2010.  The "final exam" for each student was the complete disassembling of an engine and drive train, reassembling it and starting the engine!  All passed!

      Additional funding is needed for scholarships, maintenance and support.
