Door of Hope is the dream of Pastor Johnson Lyimo who hopes to provide a residence for young Maasai girls which will allow them access to elementary education in Moshi.
The DHM Mission Statement: DHM is a non-profit Christian Ministry whose purpose is to be a channel through which our loving God restores wholeness and hope to children suffering from social and economic problems.
Recognizing that knowledge is both power and a key to life, the objectives of DHM are:
• To set marginalized children free from the bondages of illiteracy, poverty and sickness.
• To reflect Christ’s character of love, mercy, compassion and faithfulness in the course of fulfilling the call to care for children who are either extremely poor, brokenhearted or orphans.
• To share God’s grace and love through the power of the Holy Spirit in order to restore wholeness, hope and caring for children through the provision of quality education and parenting.
Building has been completed and students are in residence As pastor of the US congregation which has and continues to be the primary supporter of DHM, Pastor Gary Scheidt dedicated the project in June, 2007. Additional funds are still needed for maintenance and support.
